When we arrange our first meeting, we will send you a meeting confirmation and also include information on some topics to consider beforehand, which will be covered in our conversations.
If you are able to have any existing policy paperwork (such as pension statements / recent payslips / bank statements etc) that would be great – but if you can’t, don’t worry as all of this information can be requested post meeting if necessary.
Absolutely. We want you to feel totally comfortable with our discussions and if you would like someone to attend with you, that is no problem at all.
We feel transparency is of the utmost importance. Therefore, we publish our fees on our website and can be found HERE.
No, the cost of our initial meeting is covered by Ruby Red Financial Planning Ltd. Any costs or charges that could become payable will be covered beforehand and no chargeable work will commence without your say so. Therefore, there will never be any unexpected costs.
Yes, we are completely independent and as such, we are able to consider the “whole of market” to ensure that if a financial product is required, we can get the correct solution for you.
Our compliance is provided by SimplyBiz – the largest compliance provider to the financial advice market.
Of course – if you have the time, skills and aptitude, there is nothing to stop you completing your own financial plan. However, doing so is not for everybody! A word of caution would be to just be careful as the potential mistakes that you could make can be expensive mistakes.
Alternatively, if you would rather work with us in partnership, rest assured that you can circumnavigate the three years economics degree, sixteen professional exams (and counting!) to reach another degree level qualification (level 6) in financial planning, a minimum of 35 hours per annum professional development and tens of thousands of hours of professional experience helping others reach their financial goals, aspirations and lifestyles.
Plus, if we make a mistake, we are fully insured to rectify the situation and we are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Our initial meeting will be very much focussed on you.
This is a general conversation where we start to learn a little about you. We would discuss your current situation, what is important to you, how you want your future lifestyle to look, how you got to the position you are in today, and transitions that we need to start planning for etc. We then collect all of the information from you that we need to start working on your Financial Masterplan. At this stage we will also be able to answer any questions you may have (and it is always normal to have questions which we welcome!).
This meeting will not focus on financial products and or recommendations at this stage – more so, it is a chance for you to see if Ruby Red Financial Planning Ltd is the correct planning firm to assist you and also to see if we feel we can add value to your and your situation.
Ruby Red Financial Planning Ltd. are based in the South Hams, just outside Ivybridge. We also have a meeting space in Plymouth, Devon and Westhay, Somerset.
However, we are more than happy to visit you (either to your home or office) to conduct our meeting and find that often this is the preference.
